The Ford Viscosity Cup is a tool used to quickly and accurately determine the viscosity of liquids. It is designed to meet international standards ASTM D1200, D333 and D365. It is made of machined anodized aluminum and its nozzle is made of stainless steel and is interchangeable. This cup is not applicable to measure dense pastes or highly viscous substances, only low viscous liquids. To carry out the measurement, you must first close the nozzle and fill the cup with the liquid to be measured up to the top, to prevent liquid from draining, there is an overflow channel. Then a glass plate is passed over the cup to remove excess material. Once this is done, the nozzle is opened and the timer is activated. When the flow is interrupted the timer stops. It is important to note that when using the Ford Viscosity Cup, depending on the medium used, the cup must be thoroughly cleaned to prevent debris from falsifying future measurements. In addition, scratches can also alter the measurement since the removed material changes the volume of the cup and does not comply with DIN regulations. Manufactured by PCE with reference PCE-125/3.
