The interface for connecting Serial ATA hard drives. This new standard replaces the traditional high-speed working in parallel ATA. The serial connection uses high quality wire transmission technology based Gigabit 8b/10b encoding, and pin-out of 7 wires. Data transfer is 3.0Gb/so which is the same, 300MB/s.
