This cable carries SATA data signals and the USB port extracts the 5 VDC power and transmits it to the 6-pin connector of the MicroSATA power connector. Model that has an eSATA connector at one end+ USB Male and at the other end it has a compact MicroSATA data and power connector (7 + 9 pin).
