More info
The Ford Viscosity Cup is a device designed to measure viscosity in liquids. It is ASTM D1200, D333 and D365 regulated, and is made of machined anodized aluminum with an interchangeable stainless steel nozzle. It is useful for low viscous liquids, but it is not suitable for dense pastes and highly viscous substances. For its measurement, first the mouthpiece is closed and the cup is filled with the substance to be measured to the top. An overflow channel prevents liquid from being lost. Then, a glass plate is passed over the cup to remove excess material and the mouthpiece is opened. Due to the depression generated, the material will remain in the cup. The glass plate is then withdrawn horizontally while the timer is activated, stopping when the flow is first stopped. It is important to clean the cup thoroughly after each use to avoid residues that may affect future measurements, and it is also necessary to avoid scratches on the cup to maintain its volume according to DIN standards. Manufactured by PCE with reference PCE-125/2.

- Hollow cylindrical body ending in an interchangeable nozzle.
- Nozzle opening regulated by DIN regulations.
- Measurement: the mouthpiece is kept closed and the cup is filled with the substance to be measured. Overflow channel to avoid false measurement.
- Once full, a glass plate is passed over the cup to remove excess material.
- The nozzle is opened and the timer is activated. The timer is stopped when the flow is interrupted for the first time.
- Clean the cup thoroughly according to the medium used, to avoid residues and counterfeits.
- Do not use if there are scratches, as the removed material changes the volume of the glass.

DIN
The DIN is a standard that was developed by the "Deutsches Institut für Normung" (one might call the national standards organization in Germany). The DIN is facing many sectors, but we have tried to focus on the DIN-oriented electronics and computing. In the case of Enclosures means qualifying under the German legislation on racks and is standardized to DIN 41494-7.
