More info

The gas leak detector is a measuring instrument used to detect the presence of hydrogen in tanks or pipes. Once the presence of hydrogen is detected, the gas leak detector displays the intensity of the leak using a tri-color bar graph and emits an acoustic signal. In addition, the sensitivity of the gas leak detector can be adjusted at three different levels: 2, 15 and 30 g/year, which makes it possible to limit the search for the leak. This device is used in several sectors, including the maintenance of hydrogen tanks. The 40 cm semi-rigid probe of the gas leak detector allows measurement in places that are difficult to access, which makes it useful for the maintenance of hydrogen vehicles. It has an autonomy of around 12 hours and when the batteries are discharged, an LED on the detector signals it. It also has an automatic shutdown function that activates after 10 minutes of inactivity. However, this feature can be disabled if preferred. The gas detector warm-up time is 45 seconds. The built-in pump improves the response time of the gas detector, which is ideal for leak location work. The gas detector is very easy to transport. It weighs only 4.5 kg. As a result, the gas detector is ideal for mobile work. Manufactured by PCE with reference PCE-HLD 10.

Lithium batteries
Li-Ion or Lithium batteries are one of the most common batteries used today.
We can find this type of battery in mobile phones, wireless headphones, UPS, smartwatches, cars, etc.

Lithium is a very light metal capable of generating ions easily, making it ideal for the manufacture of batteries.

Unlike other types of batteries, they are a bit more expensive, but in return, they are much smaller and lighter, capable of doubling the duration of a Ni-Cd battery.

Thanks to their composition, they can be manufactured in different shapes, adapting to the device where they are to be located, and their low memory effect makes them ideal for any type of device.

Summarizing their positive points:
  • Easy to find
  • Many different sizes and shapes
  • Small size
  • Lightweight
  • Capable of accumulating more charge
  • Less memory effect
  • Long lasting
  • Low self-discharge rate.
These batteries also have their negative points, namely:
  • Lifespan of about 3 years.
  • Limited number of charges, between 300 and 1000.
  • They are more expensive.
  • They can overheat to the point of exploding.
  • Poorer performance in cold conditions.
  • Highly variable voltage.
Within lithium batteries, we can find 3 types:
  • Lithium-ion polymer batteries.
  • Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4).
  • Olivine-type lithium iron phosphate batteries.
