IEEE 802.3af Power Over Gigabit Ethernet (PoE injector)
REF: RA057
Specifications
  • Current injector to an ethernet cable that complies with the IEEE 802.3af, 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab standards for 10/100/1000Base-T.
  • Injects 48V to a UTP/FTP/STP cable of Cat.5 or higher.
  • The injector module has two inputs: the electric current (supplied power supply) and data (that come from a LAN connection).
  • The output carries data and electric current in a single network cable.
  • At the other end of the cable is priceeither a separator (PoE Splitter) or a network peripheral that supports power through PoE compatible with the IEEE 802.3af standard.

At the other end of the cable is priceeither a separator (PoE Splitter) or a network peripheral that supports power through PoE compatible with the IEEE 802.3af standard. Module size 73 x 24 x 55 mm. Very useful in environments where it is not possible to connect the network peripheral to the electric current (for example, IP video cameras).

Types of network cables (UTP, FTP, STP)
UTP cable is standard twisted pair is referred by its acronym UTP (Unshiedld Twiested Pair/Unshielded Twisted Pair). The major advantages of this cable are its low cost and ease of handling. Its main disadvantages are a higher error rate compared to other cable types and their limitations to work at high distances without regeneration. FTP is a type of cable caracteriza that each twisted pair is uniformly during creation. A comprehensive screening of all pairs is performed by a apantallante outer sheet. This technique allows to have similar characteristics to the shielded cable. STP is characterized by that each pair is covered with a metal mesh, in the same way that the coaxial cables, and the set of pairs is coated with a sheet apantallante. Referenced frequently with their acronym STP (Shield Twisted Pair/Shielded Twisted Pair)
