The housing is made of a very robust plastic with flanges that include screw holes and a standard latch for a secure hold. The ceramic sleeve that forms the connection of the ferrules ensures extremely low attenuation and repeatable parameters. This adapter can be used in many different configurations such as connecting patch cords, fiber optic switches, and subscriber outlets as it connects the pigtail to the patch cord. The connector type is SC with UPC polishing standard, single-mode optical fiber and 2.5 mm diameter ferrule. The construction is simplex with an insertion loss of 55 dB, an operating temperature between -40 and 85°C, a high number of operating cycles (more than 1000) and a blue color with a transparent cover.
